Murweh Shire Council Appoints Interim CEO

Murweh Shire Council has appointed Bruce Scott OAM as its Interim CEO. With 22 years in local government, Mr. Scott offers extensive managerial expertise from both the public sector and non-profit boards.

Mayor Shaun “Zoro” Radnedge highlighted Mr. Scott’s deep roots in regional Queensland and praised his resilient character. “Given Bruce’s qualifications, especially his Order of Australia Medal, we eagerly anticipate working alongside him,” said Mayor Radnedge.

Bruce Scott believes regional communities are ideal for living, investing, and family life. He emphasised, “The future of sustainable, vibrant communities lies in regional collaboration.”

Mr. Scott assumes the position after the departure of the previous CEO, who did not pass the probationary period. He will officially commence his duties on Monday 28thAugust 2023.

Murweh Shire Council will soon initiate the process of entering the open market to recruit a full-time CEO.

Mayor Radnedge concluded, “We’re excited to have Bruce as our interim CEO during this transitional phase.”
